CalBuddy Buddy Alerts Explained
CalBuddy lets you connect a real person by email. That buddy can get automated alerts when you exceed your calorie target, go two days without logging, or log high-processed “junk” food. You can change your buddy anytime. That’s the accountability loop in plain language.
Alert types
| Alert | Trigger |
|---|---|
| Calorie overage | Over your daily calorie target |
| Missed logs | No logging for 2 days |
| Junk food flag | High-processed food logged |
Why automate?
Manual “did you log today?” texts fade. Automation fires on the slips that usually start a relapse week.
What alerts are not
- Not medical monitoring
- Not a public feed
- Not a live view of every meal detail
Setup mindset
Pick someone who won’t mock you. Tell them what an alert means (“check in, don’t lecture”). Adjust targets so overage alerts aren’t constant noise.
